East St. Louis, IL - The Christian Activity Center announced today that Dr. Jeffrey A. Williams has joined the organization as the Executive Director. "As the new Executive Director, I owe a huge thank you to the CAC’s Board of Directors for their trust and support, the committed CAC staff, and especially Chet for making this transition seamless," said Dr. Williams. "Chet has been instrumental in leading the CAC to where we are today and remains an intricate part of the leadership team as the Director of Fund Development. Today, the CAC is in position to do greater things in the name of the Lord."
Dr. Williams is the Senior Pastor of the New Christian Fellowship (NCF) Difference Makers in Fairview Heights, IL. Pastor Jef, as he is affectionately known, is no stranger to the CAC. For the past 8 years, he has been actively involved as a child sponsor and as a board member which culminated in his election as the Board Chair from 2018 through 2020. He is an avid champion for youth development which was quite evident with his involvement with the Fairview Heights Youth Police Academy, the Metro East Cadets of Policing, Youth N2 Action Program, NCF Summer Youth Camp and back to school events, and several elementary and middle schools in East St. Louis, IL.
Dr. Williams, a native of Baltimore, MD also brings a wealth of leadership and management experience. Upon graduation from high school, he served in the United States Air Force for 26 years and attained the rank of Chief Master Sergeant which is reserved for the top one percent of the enlisted force. As a senior advisor to the Air Mobility Command Staff Judge Advocate, he developed policies and procedures for implementation, directed overall training, assignment, and professional development of paralegal and civilian legal support personnel throughout a 12-state geographical region. On January 1, 2009, he retired from the Air Force.
After retirement, Dr. Williams found JCW Consultants, LLC, a company specializing in maximizing human performance and productivity. He is an inspiring, award-winning speaker, author, and facilitator who is committed to helping leaders and managers build high performing teams that produce better results for their organization. He authored the book, “Leadership-Followership 360: How to Create Accountable, Flexible, and Dynamic Teams” because he firmly believes that when leaders and those who follow them bring their “A Game” to the table, nothing can stop them from succeeding as a team.
Dr. Williams is also a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. (Delta Epsilon Lambda Chapter, East St. Louis, IL) where he serves as Director of Educational Affairs; and as a chaplain for the Fairview Heights Police Department. Some of his other accomplishments include a PhD (with distinction) in Organization and Management with a specialization in Leadership from Capella University, a Master of Arts Degree in Religion (Cum Laude) from Liberty Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management from National Louis University. In addition, he earned Toastmasters International’s highest educational award designation - Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM).
Pastor Jef comes to the CAC with the support and prayers of his wife Cynthia, who is also an Air Force Veteran, his family, friends, church, and colleagues. With this support he daily reminds himself of Colossians 3:17 “And whatever you do, whether in word or in deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God through Him!
A Letter to the CAC Family
To the CAC Family:
This is the day that the Lord has made and I will continue to rejoice and be glad in it. With 2020 behind us and as we make our way through the COVID-19 pandemic, I am excited about what God has in store for the Christian Activity Center. As the new Executive Director, I owe a huge thank you to the CAC’s Board of Directors for their trust and support, the committed CAC staff, and especially Chet for making this transition seamless. Chet has been instrumental in leading the CAC to where we are today and remains an intricate part of the leadership team as the Director of Fund Development. During my eight years serving on the CAC Board of Directors, I was able to witness firsthand the importance of this role and how you, our gracious and committed partners in ministry, make what we do at the CAC possible. The possibilities before us are great as we continue to impact the lives of our children by preparing them physically, academically, emotionally, and spiritually for successful futures. In addition, I view being at the CAC as an expansion to my current role as Senior Pastor of New Christian Fellowship Church in Fairview Heights, IL. They both involve kingdom work for which God has called me to perform. Therefore, whatever I do, whether in word or deed, I do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. (Colossians 3:17) Today, the CAC is in position to do greater things in the name of the Lord. Therefore, it will remain a top priority to work alongside you, our board of directors, the CAC team, and community partners to ensure we move forward in pursuit of our organizational goals and objectives. Bottom line, the children and their families will get the services and support they deserve to thrive in this society. God bless you and thank you for making a difference that glorifies God! Sincerely,
Jeffrey A. Williams, PhD Executive Director Christian Activity Center
