Youth Ministries

Summer Missionaries
Summer Missionaries are vital to CAC's ministry. Hands-on work with children provides Missionaries the opportunity to grow in education and ministry.  Summer Missionaries assist with daily programs in education and recreation while providing additional supervision at summer camps, mission trips, and field trips. Summer Missionaries are required to attend an orientation session to start the summer and must attend weekly meetings thereafter. Summer Missionaries must be 19-years-old or older, have completed one year of college, and demonstrate church membership. Applicants must provide CAC with three references (church, school, personal) and submit the attached application by March 1st. Questions may be directed to Drew Phillips at drewxpx@hotmail.com or (618) 874-5615, ext. 208.

Kids for Christ
Kids for Christ is a Bible school style class taught by Ms. Ali Sakas. Ms. Ali introduces children to the Lord in amazing ways in the Kids for Christ classroom. Using art, music, and crafts, she teaches our children Bible stories and worship songs, while allowing them ample time to play. It is this unstructured play that positions our children to develop the pivitol life skills of cooperation, competition, and commitment to a task.

Children's Worship
Children can choose to worship the Lord every Friday night. Children ages 6-12 enjoy singing praise songs and hearing Bible stories from Ms. Sally Horstmann, a member of Winstanley Baptist Church. Our kids look forward to this worship time since Ms. Sally encourages them to sing loud so God can hear 'em in Heaven! Ms. Sally has been worshipping with youth at the Christian Activity Center for more than ten years.

Camp Penuel
Camp Penuel is a summer camp dedicated to inner-city children. The camp's Director Mr. Harry Douma was adopted as a child and grew up in poverty. His personal experience influenced him to open Camp Penuel. This camp is open to children ages 7-12. Children learn Bible stories, sing, swim, make crafts and simply – act like kids! CAC youth have been attending this free camp in Ironton, Missouri every summer since the 1990.

Kids Across America
Kids Across America (KAA) is a rural summer camp located in Branson, Missouri. The camp invites inner city ministries to become join the KAA family. At camp, children and youth ages 10-18 meet peers from across the country. The camp motivates teens to become leaders in Christ and in their families, schools and communities. CAC has been involved with Kids Across America since the camp first opened in 1991. Children and youth participate in archery, fishing, swimming, dancing, basketball, football, hiking, mountain biking, water skiing, tubing and more! Children growing up in East St. Louis have limited opportunities like this for outdoor play. KAA has a powerful staff of men and women who love the Lord and lift each other up and is structured with rules, discipline and tough love. Every year at KAA, CAC youth learn that God has a purpose for their young lives.
